ABOUT THIS GREAT FINE WINE
Jean-Claude Berrouet was appointed winemaker and Technical Director for Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1964, and was famously responsible for making 44 vintages of Pétrus until his retirement in 2007. What is less well known is that Jean-Claude had a dual role at Moueix, as well as vinifying their iconic wines such as Pétrus and Trotanoy, he was also responsible for sourcing wines on the Right Bank for blending into the Moueix range of house wines and private labels.

Jean-Claude discovered what would become Vieux Château Saint André during one of his sourcing missions, and he was so impressed with the quality of the grapes and the potential of the terroir that he purchased the property. Jean-Claude has two sons, his eldest Olivier succeeded him at Pétrus and his younger son Jeff is making the wine at the family property, Vieux Château Saint André.
