Guidalberto 2024 - In Bond

Guidalberto 2024 is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot.  The percentage of Merlot was reduced as inclement weather in August required crop thinning of the earlier maturing Merlot and it is a slightly more open vintage with nice aromatic complexity and inviting nose.  while hinting at a significant aromatic evolution over the medium to long term.  Hints of cassis, subtle bergamot and forest floor and hedgerow fruit. Fresh, elegant and energetic with a surprisingly long finish and a lighter framework than recent solar vintages.

Marking its 25th vintage, Guidalberto has become one of the standout value wines from Bolgheri. Born in the 1990s as a Merlot–Cabernet Sauvignon blend, it has steadily earned praise from critics worldwide. Softer tannins mean it’s approachable earlier than Sassicaia, which is why it’s a favourite on top restaurant wine lists from London to beyond. Yet for those who like to wait, Guidalberto rewards careful cellaring as well.
