Tasting Notes
A fresh and contemporary wine that hails from the Rioja region. Made from 30 year old Tempranillo vines with a small proportion of Graciano and Garnacha, the wine is a deep ruby in colour with notes of red berries and sandalwood on the nose. The palate is intense and velvety with notes of blackberries, plum, a touch of chocolate and sweet spices from three months ageing in new French oak barrels. The finish is long and fruity.

Food
Serve with meat tapas dishes and spicy patatas bravas.

Region
The region of La Rioja lends its name to Spain`s most widely recognised wines. Much Rioja is blended from three districts; Alta and Alavesa to the north and the hot dry Oriental district to the south (previously known as Rioja Baja) and uses Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo red grape varieties and the diminishing influence of extended ageing in oak barrels.

Producer
Wine and Roses is a project which was set up by 5 friends who wanted to produce contemporary wines with equally contemporary packaging. Their wines are not classified as `Crianzas` or `Reservas` as they did not want to be limited by the DOC regulations for Riojan wines. The friends took their inspiration for their name from the world renowned group Guns n` Roses. Combining their love of rock and roll with the rose scents of their fantastic wines. They chose the unusual skull image on the label to represent the importance of living in the moment - Carpe Diem!
