PRODUCER
The Holdaway family have been farming land in Dillons Point, Marlborough, for generations. They were among the first settlers in Nelson, arriving from England on a treacherous journey by sea in 1842. Today, Alan Holdaway and his sons, Richard and Robert, grow some of the best grapes Marlborough have to offer. The family own eight vineyards (totalling 182 hectares) which are all in the Lower Wairau/Dillons Point sub-region of Marlborough. They aim to work with natural systems and processes where possible, employing an innovative and biologically regenerative approach to grape growing that focuses on improving the quality of the soil and the health of the vines.
