Tasting Notes
The soils are located along the banks of the Mino River on clay and mica rich soils. Controlled temperature fermentation in steel to preserve aromatics of the variety, where the wine spends three months on the lees, giving texture to the palate. Intense and fresh aromas of ripe citrus fruits, nectarines and grapefruit. There is a lovely balance to the wine, ripe fruits are balanced by a crisp acidity with a notable saline and mineral character on the finish.

Food
This style of wine is perfectly suited to seafood, shellfish and white fish, such as sea bass or hake. The acidity and aromatics also make it a good pair for Asian cuisine.

Region
The Galicia region sits on Spain’s estuary ridden northwest Atlantic coast. This coastal region is wet, yet it is where the fashionable Albariño grape variety thrives on the granite soils. In the south, the Rias Baixas, which means `lower inlets’, supports vines trained high on pergolas in order to keep them well aired from the damp climate, producing fresh, elegant and aromatic wines. The Godello variety is most happy in the relatively warmer and drier valley of Valdeorras, crossed by the river Sil, which is located inland, on the eastern limit of Galicia. Godello’s bunches are compact with smallish and yields are relatively low, which probably contributed to the variety`s near abandonment in the past.

Producer
Bodegas Eidosela are based within a warmer area of Rias Baixas in Condado do Tea, along the banks of the Miño River, an idyllic lushious green landscape that borders Portugal. They hold 60ha that surround their local parish church called `Santa Marina de Sela`, which consist of small vineyard plots, made of clay and mica rich soils, all are trellised in the classic pergolas of the region. With the atlantic influence, there is a unique microclimate, which is perfect for slow ripening and aromatic concentration. They make excellent fresh styles of Albariño as well as growing other local varieties like Treixadura and Loureira.
