The palate is medium-bodied, but it is the detail and precision that achieves a level that makes the 2010 a benchmark for the Pauillac estate. It sashays towards a tensile, tar and graphite-tinged finish that lingers in the mouth. This is destined for long-term aging insofar that its quality will not be widely appreciated for many years. In his custom-made winery Vincent is moving toward the use of less oak and has been investing instead in stockinger 12HL and amphorae to allow the wine to express its true character. The grapes are hand harvested, only natural yeasts are used and Vincent does not use SO2 but favours a polyphenol liquid which is also organic. The wines show a lightness of touch, elegance and if I dare say it a touch of mystery. This is a very interesting new producer who I believe has the potential to become renowned for their different\/innovative approach to Bordeaux wines and who could gain a real following in the UK market. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAn exciting new wine from the right bank made organically with minimal use of oak and 10% amphora aging. The tannins are sweet and the wine has an opulence and richness that is rare for a Médoc in 2012. It comes from one of the few biodynamic vineyards in Bordeaux, but you are likely to see many more, given the success that Tesseron seems to be having at all levels, both in his vineyards and in his fermentation\/winemaking. An astounding, compelling wine with the classic Pauillac nose more often associated with its cross-street neighbor, Mouton-Rothschild, creme de cassis, there are also some violets and other assorted floral notes. The wine has off-the-charts massiveness and intensity but never comes across as heavy, overbearing or astringent. The freshness, laser-like precision, and full-bodied, massive richness and extract are simply remarkable to behold and experience. It is very easy, to become jaded tasting such great wines from a great vintage, but it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this. Unfortunately, it needs a good decade of cellaring, and that's assuming it doesn't close down over the next few years.
